August 6, 2026 – A 19-year-old Collinsville man is facing multiple felony charges after Owasso Police say he led officers on a dangerous pursuit Wednesday night that began in a crowded shopping center parking lot and ended in a field north of Owasso.
According to Owasso Police, the incident began around 10 p.m. on August 5 when an officer patrolling near the shopping district at 9000 N. 121st E. Ave. observed a white Ford Mustang Cobra performing burnouts and donuts in the parking lot near Target while pedestrians were nearby.
When the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, police say the driver sped through the parking lot and into the middle of a large group of juveniles, nearly striking several people before fleeing the area.
The pursuit continued east and then north, with the suspect allegedly running a red light at Garnett Road before becoming temporarily boxed in behind a dispensary. Police say the driver repeatedly rammed the patrol vehicle while reversing, eventually freeing the Mustang and continuing north on Garnett Road.
Officers reported the Mustang reached speeds of up to 77 mph while traveling through light traffic. During the pursuit, police received a report that the suspect struck another motorist’s vehicle near 106th Street North and Garnett Road, but officers were unable to locate the reported victim or vehicle after the chase ended.
The pursuit continued through a construction zone before turning west onto 116th Street North, where officers attempted several Tactical Vehicle Interventions (TVIs) to stop the vehicle. Police say the suspect recovered from the initial maneuvers and continued fleeing.
Near Mingo Road, another TVI spun the Mustang, but investigators say the driver rammed a second Owasso police vehicle before continuing west. After running a stop sign at Yale Avenue, the suspect entered northbound U.S. Highway 75.
The pursuit came to an end in the 12200 block of Northbound U.S. 75 when another TVI forced the Mustang off the highway, through a barbed-wire fence, and into a field. The suspect attempted to continue driving across the field, but the vehicle became stuck in tall grass. He then surrendered without further incident.
According to police, the driver admitted to drinking a bottle of vodka before the incident. He was transported to a local hospital, where a blood sample was collected. Investigators say they will await the toxicology results to determine the presence and level of intoxicants before completing that portion of the investigation.
Arrested was 19-year-old Lomas Dillon Martinez of Collinsville.
He was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on the following charges:
Aggravated DUI (Felony)
Aggravated Assault and Battery on a Police Officer (Felony)
Eluding Police in a Manner That Endangered Others (Felony)
Reckless Driving (Misdemeanor)
Expired or No License Tag (Misdemeanor)
No Insurance (Misdemeanor)
As with all arrests, the charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
