TULSA, Okla. — A 69-year-old Tulsa man was killed Sunday evening in a motorcycle crash on eastbound I-444 near Cheyenne Avenue.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 5:29 p.m. Sunday, August 23.
Troopers said both vehicles were traveling eastbound on I-444 when a car driven by 38-year-old Gabriel Lopez of Tulsa slowed to yield to a fire engine that was entering the highway with its emergency lights and siren activated.
A motorcycle traveling behind the car, driven by 69-year-old Steven V. Fennell of Tulsa, struck the rear of the vehicle. The collision caused Fennell and the motorcycle to go down.
Fennell was injured in the crash and died from his injuries. Lopez was not injured.
No passengers were reported in either vehicle.
The crash remains under investigation.
