TULSA, Okla., Oct. 21, 2026 – Fifteen Tulsa-area veterans are headed home today following three days in Washington,
D.C., as part of the 22nd Brookshire Grocery Company Heroes Flight.
Before departing Washington on Wednesday, the 30 veterans on the BGC Heroes Flight visited the Disabled Veterans
Memorial, National Native American Veterans Memorial, and National Museum of the United States Army.
The stops marked the final chapter of the group’s time in Washington following three days spent experiencing national
landmarks and memorials honoring generations of service.
Now, BGC is asking the Tulsa community to help make the veterans’ return just as meaningful as the journey itself.
“Our Tulsa veterans have spent the past three days being honored in our nation’s capital, and now it is our community’s
turn to show them what they mean to us here at home,” said Jerry LeClair, CEO of Brookshire Grocery Co. “We want them
to arrive to a crowd filled with family, friends, neighbors and community members ready to celebrate them. We hope
Tulsa will come out and help us make their homecoming an incredible one.”
Family members, friends and community supporters are encouraged to bring signs, wave American flags, and gather at
Tulsa International Airport to welcome these veterans home.
