According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 4:57 p.m. Sunday, August 23.

Investigators say 34-year-old Michael A. Brown of Pryor was traveling northbound on South 4230 Road when he failed to yield from a stop sign at the intersection with SH-20.

Brown reportedly pulled onto SH-20 and into the path of a westbound vehicle driven by 27-year-old Ashley-Marie Perkins of Nowata. Perkins’ vehicle struck Brown’s vehicle broadside on the driver’s side.

Both Brown and Perkins were injured in the collision. Neither vehicle was carrying passengers.

OHP reports Brown was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, while Perkins was not.

The collision remains under investigation. Information released by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol is preliminary and may be subject to change.
