Found a lost dog or cat in Owasso? There’s now an easier way to help get them back home!

The City of Owasso Animal Control Division has installed new self-service “Check the Chip” scanning stations, giving Good Samaritans access to microchip scanners 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The stations allow anyone who finds a lost pet to quickly check for a microchip without first making a trip to an animal shelter or waiting for assistance from a veterinarian or other pet care professional.

The goal is simple: reunite lost pets with their families faster while keeping animals that already have homes out of the shelter system. That also allows Animal Control staff to devote more resources to animals that are neglected, surrendered or otherwise in need of care.
The scanning stations were provided by Best Friends Animal Society through its “Return to Home” grant and were designed by AKC Reunite.
So, if a wandering furry friend happens to find you, Owasso now has a quick and convenient way to help figure out where they belong. 🐾❤️
