A domestic disturbance in Tulsa ended with a burglary suspect being shot after police say he climbed onto an apartment balcony and attempted to enter through a window.
Tulsa Police Officers responded around 8:51 a.m. Sunday to an apartment near 66th Place and Victor Avenue.
According to police, a woman reported that her ex-boyfriend was outside her apartment threatening to break in if she did not open the door. The woman was inside the apartment with her child and current boyfriend.
Police say the current boyfriend warned the suspect not to enter the apartment.
The suspect then allegedly scaled the apartment balcony and attempted to get inside through a window. The current boyfriend responded by shooting the suspect once in the leg.
When officers arrived, they found the suspect bleeding on the balcony. Officers applied a tourniquet before paramedics transported him to a local hospital for treatment.
Police say the suspect is expected to be booked into the Tulsa County Jail on a complaint of First-Degree Burglary after he is released from the hospital.
This is an arrest, not a conviction. All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
