A rear-end collision on westbound Interstate 44 near mile marker 205 in Creek County left two drivers and one passenger injured Friday night during heavy rain conditions, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred at approximately 8:38 p.m. on May 8 on the Turner Turnpike. Troopers reported that traffic had slowed because of heavy rain when a commercial motor vehicle identified as Unit 2 reduced speed with traffic. Investigators said the driver of Unit 1 failed to slow down and struck the rear of the commercial vehicle.

According to the report, the driver of Unit 1 was identified as 20-year-old Miranda Kaye Campbell of Norman. Campbell was reported injured in the collision. She was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The driver of Unit 2 was identified as 35-year-old Jacob Miles Anderson of Owasso. Anderson was also reported injured. One passenger in the commercial vehicle was also injured in the crash. Troopers said all occupants involved were wearing seatbelts.

No fatalities were reported, and next of kin notifications have been made.

Officials noted that information released during the preliminary stages of the investigation could be subject to change.
