05/12/26 – A fatal UTV rollover claimed the life of a South Coffeyville man Monday evening in rural Nowata County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened Monday, May 11 around 6:44 p.m. on County Road NS416, approximately six-tenths of a mile south of County Road EW3. The incident involved a 2021 Can-Am Maverick UTV carrying two occupants.
Investigators reported that the vehicle rolled over, causing the driver to be partially ejected and pinned underneath the UTV. The passenger was not injured in the crash.
The driver, identified as 37-year-old Jared T. Zellmer of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, was transported to Coffeyville Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 7:18 p.m.
According to the preliminary report, seatbelts were not in use at the time of the crash. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol stated that the investigation remains ongoing, and all details are subject to change as more information becomes available.
