Two wanted suspects were arrested Thursday afternoon after allegedly leading Tulsa Police on a pursuit that ended with a crash involving a van carrying two young children.
According to the Tulsa Police Department, the incident began around 3:05 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026, when an officer spotted 24-year-old Piper Barrett driving eastbound on Admiral Place near Memorial Drive. Officers recognized Barrett and knew she had an active felony warrant for her arrest. Police also noted that the gold Ford Taurus she was driving had an object obstructing the windshield, prompting an attempted traffic stop.
Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens near 21st Street and Sheridan Road, but Barrett allegedly refused to stop. As the vehicle began running red lights, officers discontinued the initial pursuit for safety reasons.
A short time later, officers located the vehicle again and discovered that Barrett had reportedly switched places with her passenger, 28-year-old Brittney Wolfe, who had taken over driving.
Police attempted another traffic stop near 32nd Street and Hudson Avenue, but authorities say the suspects again refused to stop. During the pursuit, the vehicle allegedly ran another red light at 31st Street and collided with a silver van.
The van was occupied by an adult driver, a 10-year-old child, and a 4-year-old child. Tulsa Police reported that all three occupants suffered minor injuries.
After the collision, the suspects continued driving a short distance before stopping in a nearby parking lot, where officers took both women into custody without further incident.
Barrett was arrested on allegations of eluding police and on her outstanding felony warrant. Wolfe was arrested on allegations of eluding police, leaving the scene of an injury collision, and on her own outstanding warrant.
As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and both suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
