On July 20, 2026, around 7:24 p.m., Tulsa Police Officers responded to a call at the Gathering Place about a teen boy threatening a girl with a gun.

The Tulsa Police Helicopter flew overhead and spotted a 13-year-old boy matching the description given by the 911 caller hanging out with a group of other kids.
The kids continued walking through the park to avoid Officers and security, eventually scattering. The Air Support Unit kept watching the 13-year-old suspect and led Officers to catch up with him.
Officers searched his backpack and found a loaded handgun inside.
The 13-year-old was taken to the Community Intervention Center for Minor in Possession of a Firearm.
This is an arrest, not a conviction.
