A Collinsville woman was injured Tuesday afternoon after experiencing a diabetic emergency that led to a single-vehicle crash in rural Rogers County.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 2:54 p.m. on June 16 near East 510 Road and South 4150 Road in the Claremore area.
Troopers reported that an 84-year-old Kristi Buster from Collinsville was driving a Toyota RAV4 when the vehicle left the roadway. The SUV struck a mailbox, trash can, large rock, bird feeder, and two trees before coming to rest.
Investigators determined the driver was experiencing a diabetic episode at the time of the crash, which was identified as the cause of the collision. No other vehicles were involved.
The driver sustained injuries in the crash. A passenger in the vehicle was not injured. Both occupants were reported to be wearing seat belts.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
