A Claremore man was injured Tuesday afternoon after experiencing a medical emergency while driving in Mayes County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred around 2 p.m. on June 16 near County Road N427 and State Highway 28.
Troopers reported that 49-year-old Nathan M. Chalfant of Claremore was traveling northbound on County Road N427 when he suffered a medical incident. His vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
Chalfant was transported by MESTA EMS to St. John Medical Center in Tulsa for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities said he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. No passengers were in the vehicle, and no other vehicles were involved.
