A 35-year-old Oklahoma man has been arrested on two counts of first-degree murder following an explosion that left two people dead at a Sand Springs business.
According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, Sand Springs police officers responded to a reported explosion at approximately 1:14 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, at 411 South Lincoln Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found a local business severely damaged by the explosion. While processing the scene, authorities discovered one person deceased and an adult male suffering from injuries.
The injured man was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. The person found deceased at the scene was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for positive identification.
No other injuries were reported.
The Sand Springs Police Department and Sand Springs Fire Marshal requested assistance from the OSBI, which joined several other agencies in processing the scene and investigating the cause of the explosion.
Based on evidence and information gathered during the investigation, the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office filed a felony arrest warrant for 35-year-old Ryan Bassham on two counts of First-Degree Murder.
On Sunday, August 30, Bassham turned himself in to the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office and was booked into the Tulsa County Jail.

Charges are accusations, and the accused is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
