A Tulsa man was killed Thursday night after being struck by a vehicle while walking along Interstate 44, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at approximately 8:48 p.m. on September 10 on westbound I-44 near Elwood Avenue in Tulsa County.
According to the preliminary OHP report, a Kia driven by 26-year-old Samantha G. Wood of Tulsa was traveling westbound in the outside lane. 40-year-old Joshua D. Holahta of Tulsa was walking along the outside shoulder of the interstate.
Troopers reported that the Kia failed to remain in a single lane and struck Holahta.
Holahta died as a result of his injuries. His next of kin has been notified.
Wood was not injured in the collision and was wearing a seat belt.
The crash remains under investigation. OHP notes that information contained in the preliminary report is subject to change.
