A 52-year-old man has been arrested following an investigation into a September 10 shooting near Heritage Hills Drive in the Osage County portion of Sand Springs.
According to the Osage County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded after dispatch received a 911 call reporting a shooting. The victim told investigators that Larry Dale Todd Jr. had driven him to a residence, retrieved a black handgun and allegedly fired one round at him while he was seated in the back seat of a Chevrolet pickup.
The bullet did not strike the victim; however, he reportedly suffered injuries from broken glass when the projectile entered the vehicle through a window near where he was sitting.
Investigators said a witness also identified Todd as the alleged shooter and directed deputies to the area where the shot was reportedly fired. A .45-caliber shell casing was recovered at the scene.
As part of the investigation, deputies obtained a search warrant for the residence. During the search, investigators reported finding a black Colt handgun matching the description provided during the investigation inside a locked bedroom associated with Todd.
Todd was arrested on a complaint of Shooting with Intent to Kill and booked into the Osage County Detention Center.
He was formally arraigned in Osage County District Court on September 14 and is being held on a $150,000 bond.
The charge is an allegation. Todd is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
