A 28-year-old Tulsa woman was killed Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle crash near the I-44 and I-244 westbound split in Tulsa County.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 6:21 p.m. on August 19.
Troopers say a vehicle driven by 58-year-old Sheldon R. March of Flint, Michigan, was traveling westbound on I-44 in the inside lane as it approached the merge with westbound I-244. A second vehicle, driven by 28-year-old Vica A. Perez of Tulsa, was traveling westbound in the outside lane.
According to the collision report, March’s vehicle crossed into the outside lane and struck Perez’s vehicle. Both vehicles then left the roadway to the right and came to rest off the highway.
Perez was injured in the crash and died from her injuries. Two passengers in her vehicle were also injured. OHP reported that all occupants of Perez’s vehicle were wearing seat belts.
March was not injured. Two passengers in his vehicle were injured. OHP reported that not all occupants of that vehicle were wearing seat belts.
Next of kin has been notified.
