A 20-year-old motorcyclist was killed Monday evening following a collision with an SUV near 31st Street and Riverside Drive in Tulsa.

According to the Tulsa Police Department, officers responded to the scene around 7:06 p.m. on June 22, 2026. Upon arrival, they found the motorcycle rider, identified as Caleb Lopez, deceased at the scene.

Preliminary findings indicate that a group of motorcyclists was traveling northbound on Riverside Drive at a high rate of speed when a southbound Nissan Pathfinder attempted to make a left turn onto eastbound 31st Street.

Investigators say Lopez’s motorcycle struck the passenger side of the SUV during the turn. The impact caused fatal injuries to Lopez, who was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Nissan Pathfinder was treated at the scene for minor injuries and was later released. Police said she was questioned by investigators and released pending the outcome of the investigation.

Several witnesses remained at the scene and provided statements to officers. Additionally, nearby video footage reportedly captured the collision and is being reviewed as part of the investigation.

Tulsa Police Advanced Traffic Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash and will prepare a comprehensive report once the investigation is complete.

No additional information has been released at this time.
