OSAGE COUNTY, Okla. — A 76-year-old Sand Springs man was killed in a motorcycle crash Monday afternoon in Osage County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 3:35 p.m. on September 7 on Lake Road near Wells Drive.
According to OHP’s preliminary collision report, Steven Dale McGehee, 76, of Sand Springs, was traveling eastbound on Lake Road when his motorcycle failed to negotiate a sharp curve. The motorcycle left the roadway to the left and rolled an undetermined number of times before coming to rest on its left side.
McGehee was separated from the motorcycle during the crash and was pronounced deceased.
His next of kin has been notified.
The collision remains under investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. OHP notes that information contained in the preliminary report is subject to change as the investigation continues.
