A late-night snack run turned into an unexpected fitness demonstration early Sunday morning.
Around 4 a.m. on August 2, 2026, Tulsa Police officers responded to a larceny call at the Hampton Inn near 71st Street and South 85th East Avenue. According to police, a man walked into the hotel lobby, stuffed his pockets with snacks and drinks from the hotel’s convenience shop, and casually walked out.
Officers searched the surrounding area and soon found 27-year-old Carl Titsworth walking through a nearby apartment complex. Recognizing him from previous encounters, officers stopped to ask about the reported theft.
Police say Titsworth appeared to be highly intoxicated. When officers instructed him to sit on the curb, he had other plans.
Instead of taking a seat, Titsworth dropped to the ground and started doing pushups.
And not just a few.
According to police, he completed an impressive 28 pushups—with what officers described as “decent form”—before the workout came to an abrupt end.
As officers took him into custody, they say Titsworth’s sweatpants practically surrendered, slipping down under the weight of more than $100 worth of allegedly stolen snacks and drinks hidden inside.
His fitness routine ended with a ride to the Tulsa County Jail, where he was booked on complaints of Larceny from a Retailer and Public Intoxication.
As always, an arrest is an accusation, not a conviction. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
