Just before noon on Friday, deputies responded to a gas station in the 6500 block of Charles Page Boulevard after a mother reported that her 11-year-old son had been groped.
According to the report, the boy was standing next to his mother inside the store when a woman approached, grabbed the child’s crotch area, and then left the premises.
The woman was later identified as 38-year-old Amber Compher. Video from the store confirmed the incident and identified Compher as the suspect.
Deputies searched the area, located Compher, and took her into custody. She was arrested on a charge of child sexual abuse (under the age of 12).
This is an arrest, not a conviction. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
