May 1, 2026 – Broken Arrow Public Schools is marking a major milestone in the development of a long-anticipated aquatic center for the community.

During the April Board of Education meeting, construction bids for the project were officially approved, including all bid alternates. The approval moves the district one step closer to providing student athletes and residents with a dedicated, state-of-the-art aquatic facility. Construction is scheduled to begin in May, with the project expected to take just over a year to complete. The aquatic center represents the final project from the 2015 bond issue to come to fruition.

To commemorate the progress, district officials are inviting students, families, and community members to attend the official groundbreaking ceremony. The event is set for May 5, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Kirkland Activities Complex, located at 808 E. College Street.

Funded through the 2015 bond approved by voters, the aquatic center is designed to serve both Broken Arrow Public Schools students and the broader community for years to come. The facility will expand opportunities for student athletics, instruction, and community use.

District leaders say they look forward to celebrating this important milestone with the community.
