Two people were killed Wednesday morning following a head-on collision on State Highway 88 in Rogers County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:41 a.m. on June 24 near the intersection of State Highway 88 and East 523 Road.

According to the preliminary investigation, a vehicle driven by 64-year-old Rhonda Brewer of Sapulpa was traveling southbound on State Highway 88 when, for reasons that remain under investigation, the vehicle crossed left of center and collided head-on with a northbound vehicle.

The northbound vehicle was driven by Shaylee King, 24, of Inola.

Both drivers sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased as a result of the crash.

Investigators reported that Brewer was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. King was wearing her seatbelt.

No passengers were in either vehicle.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
