TULSA, Okla. — A 47-year-old man is facing a manslaughter charge following an investigation into a fatal collision that claimed the life of a 59-year-old Tulsa man on October 23, 2026.

According to the Tulsa Police Department, Christopher Hart is accused of involvement in the events leading to the death of Roy Deaver, who was struck by a box truck near 8th Street and Sheridan Road.

Officers responded to the intersection at approximately 3:32 p.m. on October 23 after receiving reports of an injury collision. When they arrived, they found Deaver lying in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigation Reveals Events Leading to Collision

Witnesses told investigators they saw a man chasing Deaver and throwing objects at him shortly before Deaver ran into the street and was struck by the truck.

Detectives determined that Deaver, who had been living in a vehicle on the property of Johnny’s Auto Sales, had confronted Hart and two other individuals who had parked at the dealership after business hours.

According to police, Hart began chasing Deaver away from the property. During the confrontation, Deaver ran into the roadway, where he was fatally struck.

Investigators said Hart returned to his vehicle and left the scene following the collision.

Suspect Located and Interviewed

The following day, Tulsa Police Homicide Detectives located Hart and questioned him about the incident.

During the interview, Hart reportedly told investigators he had gone to the dealership to sell the owner containers of stolen motor oil. He also acknowledged witnessing Deaver being struck by the box truck.

Hart was initially arrested on outstanding warrants and subsequently booked into the Rogers County Jail.

Following the homicide investigation, Tulsa Police announced that Hart will face a manslaughter charge in connection with Deaver’s death.

The charge is an allegation, and Hart is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
