OWASSO, Okla. — Owasso Public Schools is launching the Emeritus Program, a new honorary initiative recognizing retired and retiring teachers & administrators who have dedicated at least 20 years to the District and demonstrated a lasting commitment to the Ram community.

The program will honor selected educators and administrators with the title of Emeritus and provide opportunities for them to remain connected to the schools, traditions and the community they helped shape throughout their careers.

“There are many exceptional educators who have left a lasting impact beyond the classroom,” said OPS Superintendent Dr. Margaret Coates. “The Emeritus Program gives us an opportunity to recognize those individuals and celebrate the important role they have played in shaping Owasso Public Schools and the Ram community.”

Community members, along with OPS families, staff and alumni, are invited to nominate a retired or retiring OPS educator who they believe has made a meaningful difference in the District. Nominations must be submitted through the OPS website by December 1, 2026.

A District committee will review the nominations and select the inaugural Emeritus honorees. Those selected will be recognized during the annual Owasso Public Schools Evening of Distinction in March.
