A 34-year-old Owasso man was arrested early Monday morning following an alleged domestic assault and robbery involving an elderly family member.
According to the Owasso Police Department, officers responded to a residence near 3rd Street and Elm Street at approximately 1:53 a.m. after receiving a report of a physical domestic assault.
When officers arrived, they learned the suspect had fled the residence. However, witnesses provided his name and a description of his clothing. Officers located the suspect a short time later at Rayola Park, located at 8300 N. Owasso Expressway.
Meanwhile, officers at the residence discovered an elderly man with injuries consistent with physical abuse. The victim told police he had been punched multiple times and thrown to the ground by the suspect.
According to investigators, the victim was speaking with another family member on his cellphone when the suspect allegedly grabbed the phone and took it from him. Police said the theft constituted robbery and left the elderly man without a way to call for help.
Fortunately, the family member on the other end of the call recognized what had happened and contacted Owasso Police and Owasso Fire Department medics to request assistance.
Police arrested 34-year-old Caleb William-Lee Hall of Owasso on complaints of aggravated domestic assault and battery and robbery.
Authorities said the aggravated assault charge was based on the age and physical condition of the victim compared to the suspect.
Hall was transported to the Owasso Police Department for booking procedures before being transferred to the Tulsa County Jail.
All individuals arrested are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
