TULSA, OKLA. — Two adults are facing multiple felony charges after Tulsa Police discovered fentanyl and drug paraphernalia inside a vehicle occupied by three children.
On Tuesday, October 27, around 8:30 a.m., Tulsa Police officers responded to Savannah Landing Apartments near 60th Street and Owasso Avenue after a security guard reported a man he was attempting to remove from the property for trespassing.
When officers arrived, they found 31-year-old Martell Kirkland and 36-year-old Skylar Simon sleeping inside a vehicle in the apartment complex parking lot. Three children, ranging in age from 6 to 13, were also inside.

According to police, Simon is the mother of all three children, while Kirkland is the father of one.
During their investigation, officers observed drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle, within reach of the children.
A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a clear plastic bag containing more than one gram of fentanyl, along with a small amount of cocaine.
Police said both Kirkland and Simon denied ownership of the drugs.
Both suspects were taken into custody and arrested on the following charges:
- Trafficking Fentanyl
- Child Neglect
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Police did not provide additional information regarding the children’s placement following the arrests.
All charges are allegations. An arrest is not a conviction, and both individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
