According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 9:52 a.m. on Monday, August 17, at State Highway 82 and West 810 Road near Tahlequah.
OHP reports that two vehicles collided head-on. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
The driver of one vehicle, identified as Dennis A. Dumont, 85, of Cookson, was injured in the collision and died as a result of his injuries. OHP reported that he was not wearing a seat belt.
The second driver, Fran C. Holloway, 67, of Broken Arrow, was also injured in the crash. She was wearing a seat belt, according to the report. No information was provided regarding the extent of her injuries.
Neither vehicle had passengers.
OHP says next of kin has been notified. Additional details may be released as the investigation continues.
