An Owasso native was killed early Friday morning in a collision along Interstate 44 in Comanche County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at approximately 4:44 a.m. Friday, September 11, on northbound I-44 near mile marker 41.
OHP identified the victim as 27-year-old Ocean K. Winfrey of Owasso. According to the preliminary collision report, Winfrey was a pedestrian and was fatally injured in the incident. Next of kin has been notified.
Details surrounding what led to the collision have not yet been released. OHP reports that the circumstances remain under investigation, pending information from the U.S. military and a review of surveillance video.
