Five people were hospitalized early Sunday morning after overdosing on an unknown substance at a home near 11th Street and 53rd West Avenue, according to the Tulsa Police Department.
The incident occurred just after midnight on June 7, 2026, when emergency responders were dispatched to reports of multiple overdoses inside a residence. Authorities said five individuals—three women and two men ranging in age from 28 to 45—had reportedly ingested a substance they believed to be cocaine.
Investigators learned that one person at the gathering had allegedly purchased the substance from an individual driving a Dodge Charger and brought it back to the residence. The five individuals then went into a bedroom and used the substance. According to police, they began losing consciousness one after another shortly afterward.
A sixth person at the home reportedly declined to use the substance and witnessed the medical emergency unfolding. She immediately called 911, a decision authorities say likely saved the lives of those involved.
First responders administered multiple doses of Narcan at the scene. All five overdose victims eventually regained consciousness and were transported to local hospitals for additional treatment.
Police recovered suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia from the residence. The substance has been submitted for laboratory testing to determine its exact composition.
Authorities are reminding the public that if someone appears to be experiencing a medical emergency or overdose, calling 911 immediately can make the difference between life and death.
