An Owasso man was arrested early Sunday morning after police say he forced his way into a residence, attacked two people with a shovel and then fled into a nearby wooded area.
At approximately 12:11 a.m. on Sunday, September 20, Owasso Police responded to a reported breaking and entering at a residence near 8400 North 121st East Avenue.
According to police, the victims told 911 dispatchers that an adult male known to them had forced open the front door and attacked both residents — an adult male and adult female — with a shovel, causing injuries.

Before officers arrived, the suspect fled the residence, jumped a backyard fence and entered a lightly wooded, grassy area between the Three Lakes and Elm Creek neighborhoods.
Officers established a perimeter and called for assistance from police drones and a K9 unit. Owasso’s K9 officer was off duty at the time, so a Tulsa Police K9 officer responded to assist.
During the search, the K9 tracked the suspect to a small creek, where police say he was hiding and refused commands to surrender. The K9 was deployed and apprehended the suspect, allowing officers to take him into custody.
Owasso Fire Department paramedics provided medical assistance to the two victims. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the K9 apprehension. After receiving treatment, he was transported to the Tulsa County Jail for booking.
Police identified the suspect as 40-year-old Joshua Alan Webb of Owasso.
Webb was arrested on two counts of Aggravated Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and one count of Resisting Arrest.
Police noted that although the original call was reported as a breaking and entering, Webb had been temporarily staying at the victims’ residence. As a result, Breaking and Entering/Burglary charges did not apply.
