Police are investigating a drive-by shooting

According to police, officers were dispatched to the area at approximately 12:03 a.m. after receiving reports of shots fired. Investigators say a homeowner became involved in a verbal confrontation with several occupants of a vehicle that was stopped or parked near his residence. Police noted that vehicles frequently stop in the area to pick up and drop off employees of a nearby food processing facility, creating ongoing concerns for residents.

Authorities say the homeowner went inside his residence during the confrontation, retrieved a firearm, and returned outside. At that point, at least one occupant of the vehicle reportedly displayed a firearm and fired at least two shots in the direction of the homeowner before the vehicle fled the scene.

The homeowner then contacted police. No injuries were reported, and investigators have found no evidence that anyone was struck by gunfire.

Officers canvassed the neighborhood and nearby businesses for surveillance footage while detectives collected evidence and interviewed the homeowner and witnesses. Police located at least one shell casing in the street in front of the residence, confirming that shots had been fired.

Investigators have developed several leads from surveillance video, including a possible suspect vehicle and suspect descriptions. The vehicle was described as a black Chevrolet Equinox occupied by four unidentified Black males.

Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and utilizing Flock camera systems from Owasso and surrounding communities in an effort to identify and locate those involved.

Police said the rapid nature of the incident and the speed at which the suspects left the area made the use of drones and K-9 units ineffective.
