WAGONER COUNTY, OKLA. — Two Broken Arrow residents were arrested following an undercover investigation involving alleged sexually explicit communications with someone they believed to be a 14-year-old child.
According to the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office, investigators conducted the operation on September 18, 2026, in partnership with SOSA (Safe from Online Sex Abuse), a nonprofit organization that assists law enforcement in identifying and investigating suspected online child exploitation.
Authorities say the investigation began when suspects initiated contact with an undercover decoy posing as a 14-year-old. Despite being informed of the decoy’s age early in the conversations, investigators allege the suspects continued engaging in sexually explicit discussions.
Based on evidence gathered during the investigation, deputies obtained and executed a search warrant at a residence in the 4800 block of South 211th East Avenue in the Broken Arrow area of Wagoner County.
Two individuals were taken into custody without incident. Investigators also seized multiple electronic devices and other digital evidence for forensic examination.
The suspects were identified as:
-
Julie Y. Arnold, Broken Arrow — Charged with Lewd or Indecent Proposals or Acts to a Child and Facilitating Sexual Conduct with a Minor. Bond set at $100,000.
-
Joseph L. Hunt, Broken Arrow — Charged with Lewd or Indecent Proposals or Acts to a Child and Facilitating Sexual Conduct with a Minor. Bond set at $100,000.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, both individuals remained in the Wagoner County Detention Center at the time of the department’s announcement.
Wagoner County Sheriff Chris Elliott emphasized the department’s commitment to protecting children from online exploitation.
“Protecting children is one of our most important responsibilities, and we take that responsibility seriously,” Elliott said.
He added that investigators will continue working with law enforcement partners to identify individuals suspected of attempting to exploit children online.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional information may be released as it becomes available.
The Sheriff’s Office encourages parents and guardians to discuss internet safety with children and report suspicious online communications.
